Paskong handog sa mga munting anghel
The children with their special number.
Most of us love kids whether they are considered normal or special (those with special needs commonly referred as Mongoloid, Autistic and the like). Their innocence have always touched us. A mere smile from a little kid would brighten our day. Or a simple question from them would make us feel needed. And there's so many reasons why we love buying gifts for them with a kiss or hug as a payment. And when they are excited you'll get more kisses and hugs. Such child behavior have also fascinated us. Their language has always been a gesture of love... Of curiosity in the changing world, of waiting patiently as life unfolds. Their simplicity have unstressed us of our excess baggages. They fill us with new hope for the upcoming challenges and brings smiles on our faces.

Everything about a child perfectly transforms our boring lives into a life of fun and adventure. Most parents would say rearing their kids have been a struggle of many things but at the end of the day, life becomes more meaningful. Like angels from heaven they brought us full lives. With these things they deserve a day full of fun and entertainment. A special treat for these kids (special kids) was realized through the effort of the office of councilor Merci D. Garcia and McDonalds Solid Gold Foods Inc. last December 22 dubbed, "Paskong Handog Sa Mga Munting Anghel".
Once in a lifetime fun and laughter for the
children to enjoy.
The said project was a Christmas Party full of fun games, party and gift-giving for the special kids and for the benefits of the School for Special Children's "Tuloy Aral Walang Sagabal" (TAWAG). TAWAG is located at North Baluarte, Molo, Iloilo City. It is also the first and only pilot school for special children. Now, with 35 students from 3 – 15 of age all with different special needs. The school is also accredited by the City Social Welfare and Development (CSDWD) that oversees its operations.
On it's 3rd year of celebrating life with the special kids, special games were also prepared. Along with the dancing and singing where each child gladly joined. In the event, an unforgettable moment was when they give their special number. And a joyful reaction from the audience made them give more of their best. There where tears of joy from most of the audience who have seen them perform for the first time. All the more that those present where deeply aware of their being special. Delighting them were Happy Meal from Mcdonalds given to each of them. To add more thrill to their happiness was the gift- giving, where all of them received a special gift. And an awarding of plaques and certificates ended the affair. The event made more hearts grateful. It was also summed in the message of the (Hon.Garcia) which gave hope to the parents in embracing the laughter these kids brings in one's life. She also encourages them (parents) and those present to always be giving, be loving and be caring to these kids special needs.
