VP to crown Jaro fiesta queen

Iloilo City -- Vice President Noli de Castro will be the one to crown 2006 Jaro Fiesta Queen CamilleVillar on next month's famous Jaro religious fiesta in honor of the Our Lady of Candles, the patron saint of Jaro.
Brgy. Capt. Jonas Bellosillo, assistant executive director of the Jaro Agro-industrial and charity fair 2006 said the Vice President has already confirmed his presence on the coronation night slated on February 2, 2006.
Bellosillo said Ilonggo famous singer Jed Madela will also serenade the queen. They are expecting some 100 guests from Metro Manila to witness the coronation night. He also said this year's celebration would be different from last year. Last year's queen spent some P1.8 million to highlight her Royal Court.
He said they expect Villar to spend more than P1.8 million as her float during the affair is unique and resembles a different era. Bellosillo, however refused to say whether what is the theme of the queen's Royal Court. This year's Jaro fiesta King is Tito Lopez.
Meanwhile, there will be an opening parade and presentation of the Royal Court on Saturday. The affair will start with a parade on the afternoon. The parade will start at E. Lopez Street (in front of SM Jaro).
The parade will be participated by different public elementary and secondary schools in Jaro. Different universities and colleges will also join in the parade.
The queen's father Senator Manny Villar, Rep. Raul Gonzalez, Jr. and Mayor Jerry Treņas will also be around during the presentation of the Royal Court on Saturday.
