Jaro Agro-industrial and Charity Fair 2006 mgt assures full accounting
Iloilo City -- Jaro Agro-industrial and Charity Fair 2006 executive assistant to the director general Barangay Capt. Jonas Bellosillo assured that there will be a full accounting of all the income and gains earned during the upcoming 14-day affair.
Bellosillo explained the agro-industrial and charity fair income comes from the kiosks rental and entrance fee. At present, there are 50 stalls inside the enclosed Jaro plaza. Each stall owner pays P2,000 to the committee on kiosk chaired by Brgy. Capt. Nick Gonzalez.
The P2,000 rental fee is good for 14 days. However, the entrance fee varies. At present, they are collecting P10 but it will increase to P15 on February 1 and 2, the highlights of the affair. Bellosillo said there is an increase on the entrance fee since they have three shifts of personnel to work before and after the Jaro fiesta.
Bellosillo added that all expenditures and daily income of the event are recorded. He said they are spending some P12,000 everyday since the agro-trade fair started. The P12,000 went to the wages of 16 gate keepers, 14 ticket sellers and 10 sweepers.
The 10 sweepers came from the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO). The sweepers takes charge of maintaining the cleanliness inside the enclosed area in the Jaro plaza. Their wages differ from the salaries they receive from the city government.
Aside from the maintenance personnel, they are also giving honorarium to barangay tanods and police personnel who are assigned to maintain peace and order inside the plaza. They are paying some seven to ten people who are in-charge of the security.
As to date, he has no idea on how much they will gain on the trade fair. Last year, they have only a total net of P500,000. The figure was based on their financial statement, said Bellosillo.
Earlier, Liga ng mga Barangay chair Marietta Orleans questioned the group's financial statement.
The barangay captain of Simon-Ledesma said portions of the proceeds in the affair will go to the Department of Social Welfare and Development Office, Girl Scouts of the Philippines, Graciano Lopez-Jaena Foundation, public schools in Jaro, street children and Jaro police station.
