Legacies of Martyrs
Central Philippine University (CPU) presents a centennial art exhibit that immortalizes what the university's founders stood for. An exhibit entitled Legacies of Martyrs.
Accomplished and multi-awarded members of Hebron artists showcased their masterpieces at the relaxed atmosphere of the Henry Luce Library of CPU.
Among them were Lucell Larawan, the group founder-mentor who believes that the expression of life is a a spontaneous utterance of the soul. His works of art includes a number of astounding sculptures and paintings.
Harry Mark Gonzales, the co-mentor of the group enjoyed working with different media but found a new excitement in clay, displayed brilliant sculptures and reliefs.
Rymer Gengoni is a BS Software Engineering student. A sculpture and a painter whose artworks attempt to preserve the forgotten Filipino traditions. His works hopes to remind of our past which brought us to the present. He sees these trditions as the priceless gems of our lives
Nygel John Melitado, an AB Mass Communication student whose expertise is on photography and digital art exhibited overwhelming photos. His passion evolves on capturing things which sometimes go unnoticed. An artist artist believing that all of the things we see are created by God for us to enjoy.
Jezrel Casandra, an alumnus of the said university worked on a four well-curated group exhibit.For this management graduate his artistic expressions usually stem from the passion of indigenous lifestyles and a glimpse of life from one's simplicity.
Melis Erbas, a BS tourism alumna has proven her artistry by having her creations exhibited at respected galleries. This young artist likes the beauty of a human figure. "It is a beauty that shows the abundance of mother earth, a production of nature and nature itself", she says.
