Officials clueless on where the P20M released for mothballed housing project went

Another multi-million question with regard to the city government's anomalous housing project in Pavia, Iloilo cropped up in yesterday's committee hearing of the Sangguniang Panglungsod committee on infrastructures headed by City Councilor Jed Patrick Mabilog.

'Covert' hunt for Lim kidnappers widen

Covert police operations have been extended to three Iloilo towns with government agents bent on getting all six male suspects of kidnapped victim William Lim.

This, as intelligence operatives were reportedly given first-hand information on the identities of the culprits, one of whom tagged as the group's 'mastermind' a known police character and barangay official.

Coast Guard scales down containment operations

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has scaled down its containment operations on the oil spill in Guimaras.

PCG on scene commander Harold Jarder said yesterday that their operations are now confined to within the area where the tanker Solar 1 sunk last Aug. 11.

DTI-Iloilo completes 3rd phase of Personal Computers for Public Schools Project

The Department of Trade & Industry -- Iloilo Office has recently completed the delivery, installation and inspection of computer packages in 40 recipient schools in the City and Province of Iloilo. The project, Personal Computers for Public Schools (PCPS) is DTI's response to the compelling challenges posed by the ever-evolving Knowledge Economy. It aims to enhance the IT skills of Filipino youth as the country's future knowledge workers and promote IT culture in classrooms as an avenue to develop these skills and be at par with global standards.

The 9th National Physical Therapy Week Celebration

Physical therapists and PT students from all over the region took a break from the challenging world of Rehabilitation Medicine as they celebrate the 9th National PT Week Celebration. The week-long celebration (September 4-8, 2006) with the theme: "PT's Working Towards a Stronger Workforce" was hosted by Iloilo Doctors' College School of Physical Therapy (IDCSPT) and St. Paul University Iloilo (SPUI) together with the Iloilo Physical Therapy Association (IPTA).
