Dengue scare in city brgys, Hepa A cases on the rise too

Cases of Dengue and Hepatitis A have now hit at least two city barangays, the victims mostly schoolchildren.

Petron trying to smoke screen cleanup operations?

Certain residents of Barangay Tando, Guimaras claimed that Petron Corporation seemingly tries to conceal the real situation in their area and at the same time declare that it has already been cleaned up.

A male cleanup worker disclosed that they were ordered to cover with cement the lower portion of coconut trees lined beneath the shoreline. The worker said the order came from Petron personnel supervising the cleanup operation in their area.

The desk sergeant at Molo Police Precinct holds their telephone which is presently not serviceable. Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT) reportedly cut off the telephone line of Molo Police Precinct due to unpaid bills.

Calls have been made for indigenous materials that could contain the oil spill in Guimaras, everything and anything, from rice straws to bamboo to human hair. No less than President Arroyo has called for a nationwide donation of these materials.
