NBI agent belies missing lumber as Muslim trader keeps mum on the issue

National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) supervising agent Jeremiah Sargado denied reports that part of the 29,158.35 board feet of confiscated lumber (tablon) from Abdul Wahab Karim was stolen by government agents and were used to construct their houses.

John Ryan M. Recabar, BA Broadcast Communication VI and Janus Le-an I. Dellava, BA Broadcast Communication III were chosen to be among the top four Bayer Young Environmental Envoys during the awards presentation night held on September 28, 2006, at the  Grand Ballroom of the Intercontinental Hotel at Makati City.  John Ryan and Janus will join their counterparts from 16 other countries in an educational trip to Germany in November 2006.

Water quality in Guimaras oil-spilled areas improving—Coscolluela

"The findings on water quality indicate that there is a continuing rapid improvement and we are hoping that very shortly, we will be able to declare specific areas as already clean in the oil spill-affected places in the province of Guimaras", said Task Force Solar Oil Spill (SOS) On -Site Incident Commander Secretary Rafael Coscolluela.

2 hydro projects approved

The Regional Development Council during its third quarter Regular meeting approved the implementation of two hydropower projects - the Villa Siga Hydropower Project in Barangay Igsoro, Bugasong, Antique and the Timbahan Hydropower project in Ma. Cristina, Madalag, Aklan for implementation.
