The search, which is slated on January 20th aims to discover an Ilongga who has "character, beauty, poise and intelligence."
"The ideal Miss Iloilo Dinagyang shall be a woman with incredible strength of character. She will be intelligent, and mostly articulated," Weng Diaz, Miss Iloilo Dinagyang pageant consultant said. "The pageant aspirant must be natural in terms of personality, she must speak from her heart and mean every word she says."
The school-based search gathered all the beauteous from each of the colleges and universities in Iloilo. They carried with them the endorsement of their respective schools.
Meanwhile, Diaz stressed that whoever will be chosen as Miss Dinagyang must have knowledge of history, geography, arts, politics, current events and the like as they are expected to be almost articulate when they happen to meet with officials, diplomats and guests of Iloilo.
Most importantly, the title holder must have knowledge of the festival and Iloilo as a whole as she is expected to serve as Iloilo's Ambassadress of Goodwill during her reign.
