New top cop eyes WV peace and order as top task
Focus will be set on the region's peace and order situation as Western Visayas' top cop assumes post today (Friday) at the Police Regional Office (PRO) 6. And once in office, a look will also be made on police personnel detailed as personal security of local politicians.
Such was the statement of Chief Superintendent Wilfredo Dulay, newly appointed PRO 6 director in a radio interview yesterday. Official turn-over ceremony takes place in Camp Crame on a spot left by a former classmate at the Philippine Military Academy (PMA), Chief Superintendent Geary Barias.
Barias for his part now begins his latest stint in national headquarters following a promotion to the Directorate for Investigation and Detective Management (DIDM).
Dulay once served as Iloilo Provincial Police Office (IPPO) Director in 1995 to 1997 and known for his active field work and was highly visible all throughout police offices of the province.
With his assumption as PRO 6 director, Dulay vowed to continue the work done by Barias while saying that most of the focus is set on peace and order campaign of the command.
The DIDM post for Barias was vacated by Chief Supt. Eduardo Doromal who will in turn assume a post with the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG).
