SM Little Stars: A Night of Wonder
SM China winners
The SM Supermalls have always upheld Filipino family values, and, in the past few months, the focus has been on children. SM recognizes the charm, wit and intelligence that every child has, and has come up with the SM Little Stars, to look for the child that best personifies SM's beliefs.
The SM Little Stars Grand Finals were held last October 20, 2007, at the SM Mall of Asia Centerstage. Out of the 24 children who were regional finalists from SM supermalls all over the Philippines, Knch Lhnn Cabillo from SM Cebu and Andre Roberto Tagle from SM Cagayan De Oro won, becoming the true stars of the night. The show was made possible with the cooperation of Banco De Oro, SM Department Store, Toy Kingdom, Storyland, Center for Pop Music Philippines, Enervon Bright, and for the Grand Finals, Picture City and Mang Inasal.
The show was hosted by the multi-talented JM Rodriguez, and the lovely Patricia Bermudez-Hizon. They and the audience both had a fun time as the Little Star finalists showed their inner radiance through the talent and Q&A portions. The winners were chosen by a distinguished panel of judges:
SM's Marvie Magbulos, theater actress Carla Martinez, Trumpets' Audie Gemora, ABS-CBN's Cris Navarro, and GMA 7's Cholo Noriega.
One important highlight of the show was the special number by the three SM Little Stars winners from China: Mo Fan Lin from Jinjiang, Yvonne Li from Chengdu and Xiao Fan Ma from Xiamen. They performed the Chinese version of SM's theme song. The SM Little Stars event had its beginnings in China, where the SM Supermalls came up with the activity as a way to positively encourage children to be themselves.
