WVSU, NRCP collaborate for international research confab
West Visayas State University (WVSU) and the National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP) are collaborating for the staging of an International Research Conference with the theme "Research: A Response to the Challenge of Globalization", to be held at Amigo Terrace Hotel in Iloilo City on February 27 to 29, 2008.
One of the highlights of the centennial celebration of West Visayas State University, the research conference aims to present the response of higher education and research institutions to the challenges of globalization through research. It will provide avenue for presentation of state of the art of researches in Teacher Education; Sciences, Math and Technology; Medicine and Health; Humanities and Social Sciences; Agriculture and Allied Fields; Media and Communication; and Information Technology and Engineering.
Dr. Olivia C. Caoili, President of NRCP will keynote the event. Plenary speakers include: Dr. Thao Le, Director of Linguistics, University of Tasmania, Australia; Dr. Amin Sarkar, Professor of Economics and Dean of Business, Alabama A & M University, U.S.A.; Dr. Jaime Galvez Tan, Professor, University of the Philippines College of Medicine; Dr. Mina Ramirez, President, Asian Social Institute; Dr. Roland Buresh, Senior Soil Scientist, Crop and Environmental Sciences Division, International Rice Research Institute, and; Dr. Florangel Braid, Professor, Asian Institute of Journalism and Communication.
More than 200 hundred papers and posters have been accepted for the conference from researchers of different universities and institutions around the world.
Full registrants to the conference are guaranteed of attendance in all scientific sessions, technical exhibits, conference kit, cultural show, accommodation on sharing basis and meals.
