PECO, TNT Reach Out
TNT's and Makinaugalingon Press joins force in packing the
goods.
Panay Electric Company (PECO) and The News Today (TNT) through its project called "Tabang - Bulig", raised funds for the victims of the flood caused by typhoon Frank that hit Iloilo City last June 21. Concerned citizens and organizations extended their help.
The employees of PECO, The News Today, Makinaugalingon Press and Graphic Etc. Printing Press readied 1,500 relief packages.
The distribution was made by TNT and PECO to several evacuation centers on the evening of June 23. The first stop was the Barangay Balantang covered gym in Jaro. Recipients of this area came from two barangays, Brgy. Balantang and Brgy. Sapa.

Then the convoy proceeded to Jaro I Elementary School, which is being used as a temporary shelter for the affected villagers of Brgy. Fajardo and Brgy. Cuartero. Julio Roldan, Brgy. Capt. of Cuartero is thankful for the goods they received. "This is a big help for my villagers because most of them saved only what they wore," he said.
On June 24, the group was divided in order to cover more areas. Caloy Borja of PECO and Sandra Cacho led each group. They distributed relief goods to barangays Sambag, Desamparados, Buntatala and Camalig in Jaro and in Taft North and Bakhaw in Mandurriao.
The TNT group led by its Managing Director Marichel Magalona, proceeded to Mandurriao. The residents of Bolilao and Bakhaw were the beneficiaries. Then, they proceeded to Simon Ledesma, Dungon in Ungka and Tabuc Suba, all in Jaro.

PECO President Luis Miguel Cacho take time out to distribute
goods to flood victims in the inner portions of Tabuk Suba,
Jaro. PECO has distributed relief goods to various barangays
in the city comprising over 2,000 food packs, blankets,
water, water containers, medicines among others.
