International fare at Grand Dame
Grand Dame's staff.
Thanks to Grand Dame Hotel's Manager Mannie Gruenberg, The News Today had a filling of their International Buffet last Monday.
Since the beginnings of its daily lunch and dinner buffet offerings for a long time now, Grand Dame's restaurant had been filled during these times because of its good and reasonable variety of food at a very affordable price. That one particular Monday had been one of those days where diners already come as early as 11 am to partake of their international favorites.
The Manhattan Clam Soup was a good start. Fit for a rainy day, the soup was a hearty concoction of zucchini, bacon strips, tomatoes and potatoes. I read somewhere that zucchini is a good source of vitamin C and lutein, making it a good cold-buster and promoter of a healthy pair of eyes.

The treat was followed by Pomelo Salad, Seafood Emince with Dijon Mustard Sauce, West Coast Salad with Anchovy Honey Mustard Dressing, Assorted Sushi, Chicken Galantina, Roast Porkloin with Rosemary, Stuffed Fish Fillet with Tausi, Paella Marinara, Garides Sayamali (Pasta Con Pomodori), Beef Camto and Garlic Champignon with Green Vegetables.
I've acquired a sweet tooth lately, so dessert was another looking-forward-to event. The owners of Grand Dame also own JD Bakeshop, the makers of affordable and sinfully sweet desserts. So, we feasted on JD-made Ube Cake (we kept coming back for more!) and Tiramisu Cake. There was a Halo-Halo Station and people were trooping to that side of the bar, too.
Grand Dame's International Buffet happens every lunch and dinner from Saturday to Monday. Diners can now avail of it in its manager's discounted price of P225 while children below four feet can enjoy the same feast for P155 only.
