St. Therese yields most gold medals in Food Showdown 2008

In the Food Showdown 2008 organized by ABS–CBN and the Lifestyle Network held last September 17–19, 2008 at the World Trade Center, Manila the St. Therese Culinary Team yielded the most number of gold medals and highest ranking points in the Special Events Category - Student Division declaring it to be the most multi-awarded school in the history of Food Showdown.
With a record of 7 trophies in various competition areas, 3 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze medals including 7 Highest Ranking Positions in different areas.
The St. Therese – MTC Colleges participated in the first Food Showdown in 2007 and set the history for garnering first place in the Bar Chow and Kusina Rapido thus maintaining the same title in this year's competition for the 2nd year in a row. It proved to be unbeatable in the said category wherein it added a new slot, which is the Pralines, where they garnered a gold medal.
Filipino Buffet Challenge – Highest

This year the St. Therese - MTC Colleges swept all the Special Events garnering 1st and 2nd place respectively. It is comprised of live cooking competitions as sponsored by Eden Cheese, McCormick, Purefoods and Magnolia Chicken proven that the school really champions the culinary scene.
The St. Therese Culinary Team yielded the following: Gold – Kusina Rapido, Bar Chow Platter, Pralines; Silver – Flairtending, Bar Chow Platter; and Bronze – Buffet Challenge, Filipino Desserts, Kusina Rapido.
For brand competitions, they won 1st and 2nd Place for Mc Cormick, Eden Cheese, Magnolia Chicken and Purefoods Corned Beef.
The 11-student delegation is comprised of Mark Ehrol Salvador, Joely Artillo, Harmon Superio, Lidalyn Castor, Paul Jerome Penuela, Roi Maulit, Walter Tagudando, Vincent Uy, Benedict Benedicto, Jim Bobis and Arjie Janito.
Bar Chow Platter – Gold.
This year is truly a tough challenge raising the bar of competition wherein the Food Showdown Judges scrutinized every detail assuring a high standard which is truly World Class.
