ROXAS CITY – The residents of Brgy. Olotayan, an island-barangay here, are very grateful and delighted to be recipients of another relief operation even after almost four months that typhoon Frank devastated their place. They have never expected that the assistance extended to them is still ongoing. The relief operation is still a big help to them because, whereas victims in other places have already recovered from the devastation, they still have a long way to upturn their situation since their island-barangay was badly hit by the super typhoon.
Congressman Fredenil Castro of the 2nd District of Capiz and Provincial Liga President Clemente "Budong" Castro-Firmalino recently conducted a joint relief operation in Barangay Olotayan as their gesture of concern and assistance to the typhoon Frank victims.
Firmalino and other village chiefs were
fetched by the residents.
Firmalino, an ex-officio member of the Capiz provincial board, said that the relief operation was requested by Olotayan village chief Manuel "Bongbong" Aninang who was a classmate of Representative Castro.
Around 300 residents of the island-barangay were recipients of the relief operation. Each has received five gantas of rice, noodles, sardines, and 3-in-1 coffee, etc. The 60 sacks of rice were from Castro whereas the grocery items were from Firmalino.
Some ten village chiefs in Roxas City also attended the relief operation. They were: Randee Albar of Lawaan, Fred Agrasada of Banica, Teros Camacho of Brgy. 7, Arceno Borres of Lanot, Wilson Acervo of Mongpong, Noel Agapito of Brgy. 6, Alfredo Cartujano of Balijuagan, Fred Doroteo of Brgy.5, Ildefonso Tobillo of Brgy. 3 and Romeo de Felipe of Punta Tabuc. Capiz Vice Governor Felipe Barredo and the local media also attended the activity.
