The Photographic Society of Iloilo during
the opening salvo.
The Photographic Society of Iloilo (PSI) celebrated its founding anniversary recently at the Boracay Ballroom of Sarabia Manor Hotel and Convention Center and your Pink Pepper rubbed elbows with its remarkable and artistic members.
The celebration started with a ribbon cutting of the photo exhibit by PSI president Antonio Rojas Jr. and the well-loved City Mayor Jerry Trenas. It was followed with a superb dinner.
Rojas said that in its 28 years, PSI had been conducting seminars and workshops. He said that for those who want to learn photography, the people behind PSI are willing to share their expertise.
Israel Gonzalez, Francis Dela Cruz, Nap
Sy, Daisy Cababasay, Bert Onglamsing,
Erwin Young and daughter Erin, Vic Pido
and Neil Valera.
That night, PSI also unveiled the winners of its photo contest as well as recognized the Photographer of the Year awardees.
The PSI was established in September 1980 by a group of photo hobbyists bound together by their common interest. Through the years, PSI's path has evolved. Old members took a break, new enthusiasts joined, technologies changed from film to digital, techniques were improved through the use of computers, among others. But the very framework of the club has never changed. This is still a group of people with different backgrounds but have the same love for photography.
