SIFI medical mission held in Pres. Roxas, Capiz
ROXAS CITY -- The Sugar Industry Foundation, Inc. (SIFI) recently conducted its 61st Medical Mission and Feeding Program in Brgy. Culilang, Pres. Roxas, Capiz.
The mission team was headed and facilitated by Mr. Jorge C. Sobrepeña, SIFI Project Officer and Arlene B. Lozada, SIFI staff.
Assisting SIFI in its mission were Capiz Sugar Central, Inc. represented by its Personnel Supervisor Diane dela Flor with Marilyn C. Libay and Mary Rose M. Colmo.
Brgy. Culilang is represented by Brgy. Captain Ronaldo Arroyo and Brgy. Health Workers Cylde Gepanayao and Amelia Fulgencio.
The feeding program was in coordination with Helen Keller International (HKI) thru its Project Coordinator Juvy M. Zafra.
SIFI officials said the cooperation and support of their partners and the services rendered by the doctors made the mission successful.
The medical doctors who joined in the mission were Drs. Ma. Venus B. Loretizo and Elna B. Gaston.
A total of 300 sugar worker beneficiaries and small planters in the nearby areas including their families were served. Also 80 children availed of the feeding program.
The prevalent diseases in the area were arthritis and anemia, hypertension, hyperacidity, upper respiratory tract infection, abdominal pain, severe cough and colds, fever and intestinal parasitism. First degree malnutrition was prevalent among children. (SIFI-PIA LOL)
