Bizman urges Sen. Roxas to show stand on cha-cha
ROXAS CITY – A businessman in Pontevedra has urged Sen. Mar Roxas to show his stand whether he is for or against the charter change that Malacañang is pushing.
Mr. Erin Azarraga said that many senators seem to be pro cha-cha as they were instrumental to the ouster of Senate President Manny Villar who was replaced by Sen. Juan Ponce Enrile.
"Their action to conspire for the ouster of Villar in the senate presidency tells of their political color that they are pro cha-cha," Azarraga said.
Azarraga, who is the son of the late Atty. Edward Azarraga, said some senators and congressmen apparently want to perpetually be in power.
According to him, some 158 congressman already signed for the approval of cha-cha and it will only need 22 solons for it to pass the lower house.
"I'm appealing to the people of Capiz to ask the lawmakers including Sen. Mar of Capiz to oppose it and show their stand regarding this matter," Azarraga said.
Sen. Roxas and his allies here was not reached for comment about their stand on the issue.
