Orola running for Congress: 50-50
BACOLOD CITY -- Former Bacolod City Lone District Rep. Atty. John N. Orola, Jr. might stage a comeback in 2010. But as to its status for now, he said, "it's 50-50."
He said he is very much familiar with the position. "But I am just looking at the situation in the city. I still have that moral responsibility to the people of Bacolod because at one time, they have elected me to be their representative in Congress. But it was only interrupted. At this point in time, the wind of change is coming also. I am looking forward to that direction that can really help the people of Bacolod."
He still has other concern for now.
Orola has several projects like the slaughterhouse and other infrastructure projects that have been enjoyed by Bacolodnons.
Orola is a member of the Nationalist People's Coalition and has been a guest candidate of the Partido ng Masang Pilipino, a political party of former President Joseph Estrada.
"I would still continue seeing the leadership of the NPC. After all I still belong to them. It's up to Boss Danding who is best qualified to run here in the City of Bacolod," he said.
Orola said he wants to work with somebody whom he is very much familiar with and would have a very good working relationship so that there will be understanding and unity.
He considered his future opponents are qualified and well meaning. It's up to the people to choose. But they must choose somebody who has experience and a lawyer.
"But things are not yet final. We need to see my acceptability to the people of Bacolod. I love Bacolod very much."
The possible aspirants for the Congressional seat are LTO NCR Director Ricardo Cano Tan, Usec. Anthony Golez, former Vice Mayor Renecito Novero, Vice Mayor Jude Thaddeus Sayson, among others.
But earlier a local psychic named Madam Tari predicted that Cano Tan will be the next Congressman of Bacolod.
