The donation includes 24 pieces of .45 caliber pistol with Armscor brand and four computer units. The procurement of the 24 pieces of caliber pistol and the computer units was the response of the solon to the request of the city director. The city police office is short of 100 pistols for the use of police operatives and needs computer units, said Gilbert Valderrama, chief of staff of Gonzalez.
The turn-over rites will be held at the Gonzalez congressional office. It will be attended by officials of the city government and the city police office.
Valderrama said Gonzalez has allocated portion of his PDAF for the purchased of the firearms and the computer units after seeing the immediacy of the request. The city director will be the one to allocate the 24 firearms to the different police stations.
He said they were able to buy the firearms at a lower price of P16,000 per unit but there are other fees included in the transaction. It is roughly P384,000 without the added cost to the transaction.
A source knowledgeable in firearms said prices of a .45 caliber pistol with Armscor brand ranges from P19,000 to P23,000 per unit.
The four computer units will be divided to the Central Records Section of the ICPO with two computer units, Molo police station, one, and the remaining computer unit is for the Mandurriao police station, said Valderrama.
This is the second round of the donations made by Gonzalez to the PNP. More than a month ago, he also turned over two units of Toyota Avanza for the police.
