New chef’s recommendations at Carlo’s
After a satisfying lunch.
Carlo’s Bakery Cafe comes up with New Chef Recommendations. These are must-tries that would surely become your favorites, enough to visit Carlos’ Bakery Cafe again and again. For starters, try Gambas Al Ajillos or Garlic Button Mushrooms. For salad, try Tuyo Vinaigrette or Japanese Salad. For sandwiches, try Chunky Chicken Asparagus or Giant Cheese Burger. For pasta, try Putanesca or Cardiac Arrest Carbonara. And for the entrees, choose from Duo of Fish Sinigang, Slow Roasted Oriental Pork Belly and Sizzling Sisig.
Carlos Bakery Cafe Vice President for Operations, Chef Raisa Trenas, invited The News Today, ABS-CBN and Tatak Ilonggo to experience what they have to offer and we were quite impressed. With her were Chef Raymar Reyes, who cooked Gambas Al Ajillos and Chef Dino Guingona, who showed us how to make Mango Basil Carbonara. Chef Raisa made Banana Walnut Bread, which, everybody agreed, was soft, moist and yummy.
LA Lakers Crispy Pata.
Maricar, a TNT colleague, feasted on Japanese Salad, which, according to her gave justice to its name. After all, it’s made up of authentic Japanese ingredients. The seared beef strips were tender.
Gemma Villanueva of ABS-CBN said that Sizzling Sisig was her favorite. “The chili comes as an after taste,” she said.
Slices of the Oriental Pork Belly were the feasts on my plate. This slow-roasted pork is tender and juicy. Florence, a TNT colleague marveled at the crispiness of the LA Lakers Crispy Pata.
“There’s more to Carlo’s Bakery Cafe than just breads,” said Chef Raisa. Indeed, it’s also a restaurant that offers varied innovations of all-time favorites.
