National Children's Book Day at SM
SM City Iloilo Mall Manager Girlie Libo-on
SM City Iloilo, along with other SM malls nationwide, celebrated the National Children's Book Day recently. What took place were a book reading session featuring the books published by Vibal Publishing House as well as fun time with SM Storyland's mascots. The attendees were Boys Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) students of Colegio de San Jose and representatives from BSP and the Department of Education (DepEd).
The activity gave emphasis on the importance of reading to children. While it's also important to invest on a child's food, clothing and toys, it's also a must to give value on what should be put on a child's head. Reading at an early age is essential as it defines a child's future success. So, if you already read to your child, congratulations. But if not, invest on reading materials. You don't have to be a rich person in order to invest on a reading material. While I was going through the books at SM City Iloilo, I was surprised to see that some story books costs only P50. So, off I go to purchasing some of the nicest books there were and read it to my niece, nephew and my honey's son. Children are always excited about new things but nothing could excite them more than a new book with colorful pictures in it. They keep coming back for it.

Thanks to SM for activities that promote children's development as well as publishing houses that sell books at affordable prices. Now, reading is a hobby that everyone can truly benefit from.
