The Ilonggo Indie Art Festival
ABS-CBN's 'Iboto Mo, Ipatrol Mo' booth
Independent Ilonggo artists showcased their talents in the fields of music, visual arts, filmmaking as well as showed the indigenous culture of Panay in a half-day event called “Ilonggo Indie Art Festival” held last month.
This free-for-all event was held at Dos Marias Pizzeria. It was a project of Strawlace Productions and Rock Ed Iloilo
The attempt to showcase the talent of our homegrown artists as well as bygone cultural practices, was quite a success. It was also a venue for a social awareness campaign targeting the Ilonggo youth—Iloilo’s college students and young professionals. Representatives of NGOs participated to advance or promote their advocacies on environmental awareness, HIV/AIDS/safe sex, gender equality, human rights, voter’s education, and others.
