Mambusao mayor warns closure of illegal videoke bars
MAMBUSAO, Capiz — Mayor Jose “Joe” Alba said here recently that he already ordered the closure of five video bars/night clubs in their town that are operating without licenses and necessary permits.
Alba ordered the closure after Veronica Martinez, municipal social welfare development officer, found that these five business establishments failed to secure the mayor’s permit and and business permits to operate. Martinez recommended that said establishments be padlocked.
Earlier, it was reported that there was a sudden rise in the number of sexually transmitted infections (STI) in Mambusao town. Entertainers also ply their routes illegally and became unregulated by club owners.
According to Alba, his office will padlock the said business establishments until such time they can secure necessary permits from the municipal government.
He said that the business establishments subject for closure are: Riverside Videoke, ML Bodega, TL Videoke Bar, MC Park View and Wilson Videoke Bar.
