CPU Alumni Homecoming presscon.
On Sept. 5, 2009, Saturday, the Central Philippine University will celebrate its 104th Alumni Homecoming with the theme “Empowering Centralians for a Better CPU.” The annual event underscores the CPUAAI’s corporate motto, “We Move For a Greater Central.”
The CPUAAI has grown along with its Alma Mater’s achievement – as among the top schools and universities in the country. The “Central Spirit” continues to enhance every Centralian, inspiring them to participate and support the annual homecoming event at CPU. Over the years, they have maintained a strong alumni association, bonded by love and inspired by the “Central Spirit”–the spirit that continues to enhance every Centralian to participate and support the program and activities of the university.
CPU alumni from the different cities and provinces of the country and overseas will come to unite with their friends and classmates whom they might have not met for long years, enjoy the campus ambiance they have missed in their Alma Mater.
According to Atty. Von Lovel Bedonia, president of CPUAAI, the association has 1,078 lifetime members with 139 chapters all over the world. The chapters are all active in the different projects and activities of the association.
CPU President Dr. Teodoro Robles, said that the CPUAAI had been very supportive of the university’s numerous projects. He mentioned some, like the fund-raising for the Lifestyle Learning Center and the improvement of the Women’s Dorm. Quarterly donations continue to pour in while some chapters are looking for projects to sponsor.
The CPUAAI is continuously updating its records of its alumni in order to reach all Centralians around the world and let them feel that they are part of CPU despite the distance.
The homecoming program will be held at the CPU Covered Gym from 8 AM to 2 PM. It includes a general assembly and a Search for the Homecoming Queen. In the evening, Centralians will be honored at the highlight of the event – The Centralians Night, 7 PM at the Amigo Terrace Hotel Grand Ballroom.
