The four-day Street dancing competition for the Masskara Festival kicked off Thursday, October 15 with 11 school participants.
Artistic, colorful and wel- designed smiling masks and costumes parading and dancing along Araneta Street, from Lizares Avenue to the Bacolod Public Plaza, was a treat to the local and foreign tourists in the city more so as it was blessed with a sunshiny day,
Winners for Street and Arena Dance competition in Elementary Level are Champion–Handumanan Elementary School, First Runner-up – Corazon L Montelibano Elementary School and Second Runner-up–Rodolfo A Medel Sr Elementary School. Special Award winners for Best in Costume and Best Concept – Handumanan Elem School, Best in Mask – Patricia Homes Elem School and Best in Choreography – Vista Alegre Elem School.
Street and Arena Dance competition winners in Secondary Level are Champion – ABKASA National High School, First Runner-up – Domingo Lacson National High School and Second Runner-up – Bacolod City National High School. Special Award winners for Best in Costume – Bacolod City Nationala High School, Best in Mask – Domingo Lacson National High School, Best Concept and Best in Choreography – ABKASA National High School.
Prizes of P50,000 for the Champion, P30,000 for First Runner-up and P20,000 for Second Runner-up were bagged by the winners.
