Treñas breaks ties with Gonzalezes, to run for congressman

City Mayor Jerry Treñas finally broke his ties with Presidential Legal Counsel Raul Gonzalez Sr. as he declared his plan to run as congressman in the lone district of Iloilo City against incumbent Representative Raul Gonzalez Jr. in next year’s election.

Jamora open to having Treñas in their group

Presidential Assistant on Water Undersecretary Larry Jamora was surprised of the declaration made by Mayor Jerry Treñas yesterday that he will be running for congressman in next year’s election.

Brgy. 19 to be placed under ‘state of calamity’

BACOLOD CITY — Sangguniang Panlungsod of Bacolod City is scheduled to approve today the request of Mayor Evelio Leonardia to declare under the state of calamity the whole area of Brgy. 19 after a huge conflagration happened early morning last Monday which killed 17 people and totally gutted 59 houses.
