Abela reelected as CAGPIO prexy
ROXAS CITY – For the second time around, Engr. Julius Abela of Department of Public Works and Highway (DPWH) 1st engineering district was reelected as president of Capiz Association of Government Public Information Officers, Inc. (CAGPIO) for 2010 – 2011.
Other officers elected were: Ms. Jane V. Amigo (Philhealth), vice president; Ms. Loida J. Lorenzo (BFAR), secretary; Ms. Annie N. Banico (DILG), Assistant Secretary; Ms. Ma Gracia D. Balgos (BIR), treasurer; Ms. Lilibeth Arluz (MRWD) auditor; Mr. Lani Arnz M.Caberte (LGU-Sapian) and Ms. Norma M. Chavez (LGU-Jamindan) business managers; Mr. Teodoro E. Buenvenida (OPA) PRO.
Elected Board of directors were: Ms. Carlette C. Pretta (DAR), Ms. Hazel D. Joaquin (Capsu), Ms. Margie G. Gimino (LGU-Tapaz), Mr. Kenneth Emmanuel G. Tipon (CAPELCO), Mr. Eliseo A. Abucay (DSWD Field Office) and SPPO Wilfredo Gallenero (PPA).
The induction ceremony, which was held last week at Calle Fuentes Restaurant here, was attended by Capiz Gov. Victor Tanco, Sr., Atty. Ma. Janet Mesa, PIA regional director; Mr. Dayland Moises, Comelec; Mr. James Cabag, Jr, PIA-6; Ms. Jemin B. Guillermo and Mr. Alex Lumaque, all of PIA-Capiz.
Abela, in his message, said that for few years, they will continue and carry on with activities consistent with the pursuit of the association and their administration objective.
“We shall continue moving forward, the advancement of our knowledge and skills as public information officer of our respective department and agency,” Abela stressed.
According to him, as such they will not be left behind and they will be highly recognized
in doing their responsibility that “bring the government closer to the people through a stronger partnership on public information toward global climate change,” Abela said.
Abela passed Civil Engineer Boad Exam on November 26-27, 1998 and Project Engineer Accreditation Exam in July 30, 1999.
He entered at DPWH as casual in 1981 and became permanent in 1982 after he passed the board exam.
Presently, Abela is Asst. Chief Planning and Design Section and at the same time, he is in charge for special projects at the said government office.
