Jinon vows to support Tanco for dev’t in Jamindan
JAMINDAN, Capiz – Although they belong to different political parties, re-elected Mayor Ethel Jinon vowed to support the administration of 2nd termer Governor Victor Tanco, Sr. particularly his development agenda in this town.
“I recognize Tanco as my governor, although we support the latter’s opponent former Agriculture Usec. Jocjoc Bolante of Ugyon Kita Capiz (UKC), Jinon told The News Today (TNT).
According to her, the election is over and it’s time for the politicians to work together for development.
She said that the election in Jamindan was very peaceful since both parties never thrown bad issues against each other.
Jinon is now in her second come back as Jamindan mayor. She completed her three terms as mayor from 1988 to 1997 then she paused for 9 years to support his ally former vice Mayor Winston Advincula who became mayor for three terms from 1998–2007.
When Advicula graduated in 2007, he run for board member and won while Jinon returned to run as mayor in the same year and won and reelected as mayor in the recently concluded polls.
In the recent polls, Jinon of Lakas-Kampi-CMD defeated Mary Jean Advincula of Liberal Party (LP), wife of Winston, in mayoral race with some 6,000 votes.
Meanwhile, the lady mayor said that she will continue her priority projects such as establishment of municipal hospital for the better health of Jamindanons, water system, Capiz State University (CAPSU) Burias, Mambusao-Jamindan extension, road concreting and other infrastructures.
“I wish and pray that those things will all fulfilled before I leave as mayor in Jamindan,” Jinon said.
She also said that congresswoman-elect Jane Tan Castro will be of help to such projects undertaken by her administration.
It was learned that Tanco won in Jamindan over Bolante with a margin of 1,800 votes despite Jinon supported the former’s opponent.
