Most city boarding houses violate safety requirements

Most boarding houses in Iloilo City do not have fire exits, an inspection conducted by the Boarding House Commission revealed.

Since the opening of classes, the BHC has already inspected 156 boarding houses

Lending collectors, couple robbed in Iloilo

Two lending collectors of Taytay Sang Kauswagan Inc., a non-government organization involved in micro-financing, were robbed by two motorcycle-riding men at around 2:30 p.m. on Monday in Brgy. Agusipan, Badiangan town.

The Iloilo Provincial Health Office has recorded six deaths due to dengue hemorrhagic fever as of the second quarter of 2010.

IPHO assistant chief, Ma. Socorro Quinon, said most of the fatalities were children.
