95% rating for PNoy – guv
Iloilo Gov. Arthur Defensor. Sr. said he is giving President Benigno Aquino III a rating of 95 percent for his sincerity in weeding out corruption in this country.
Defensor, in a press conference, said that although he hasn’t yet seen anything spectacular on the programs of Aquino administration, but then he is giving him a high rating because he could really see the president’s sincerity to realize his campaign slogan against corruption.
The president in his speech delivered Thursday when his administration reached its first 100 days still emphasized his campaign against corruption and how his administration is able to let the government save huge amount of money.
The president by also exemplifying how it is to live a simple lifestyle has gained the trust of many Filipinos back to their government.
Defensor said although no country leader has yet solved corruption, what Aquino is doing is something laudable.
Meanwhile, Fifth District Board Member Nielo Tupas said that the president’s move to continue pro-poor projects like the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program 4Ps or is much laudable because it benefited a lot of needy people.
Second District Board Member June Mondejar said that Aquino, seeing how good the 4Ps is, continued the program and even expanded it.
He said 4Ps is really a big help to the poor families even in Iloilo province because it is being directly given to the beneficiary families.
According to Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Regional Office 6, the 4Ps right at the start of the Aquino administration has been extended to 43 municipalities and 10 cities in Western Visayas.
It also covers now 411 barangays with 48,704 beneficiaries.
The 4P’s being a conditional cash transfer program entitles each of the three children of the beneficiary family to receive P300 per month as their educational assistance and another P500 for their health aide per household.
Each beneficiary family receives a total of P1,400 per household per month from the program.
But during the previous month of July to August 2010, the 4Ps beneficiary families were also able to receive each a sack of rice that was funded by the DSWD and released through the Philippine Red Cross as support due to the ill effect of the El Nino phenomenon.*
