10 cops finally relieved from their posts
ILOILO CITY - Finally, the personnel division of the Police Regional Office (PRO) 6 has issued the relief order for the ten cops of the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) dubbed as 'ineffective' in their previous assignments.
Sr. Supt. Isagani Cuevas, PRO-6 deputy regional director for operations yesterday confirmed the relief of the ten cops from their assignments. The relief order was dated November 16, 2005.
The affected cops were SPO1 Danny Gallego, PO2 Remy Donasco, PO2 Salvador Gonzalez, PO3 Ronaldo Alag, SPO3 Nathaniel Ore and PO2 Armand Penuela, SPO3 Gonzalo Isanan, PO1 Richard Adelantar, SPO1 Eduardo Casabuena and SPO3 Gerardo Iguarra.
The supposed relief of the ten cops the other week was temporarily put on hold to give them time to explain why they were recommended by their respective chiefs of police for relief.
Except for Iguarra who is previously assigned at the Task Force Waterfront, the nine cops are now assigned at the Regional Headquarters Service Support Group (RSSHG) in Camp Delgado. The RHSG also served as the unit of cops in the region who either have pending cases or are sickly. Iguarra was recalled at the Regional Anti-Drug Task Force also in Camp Delgado.
Until this date, Cuevas refused to comment on whether these ten cops were involved in the illegal drug trade, illegal gambling or any illegal activities that prompted their relief from their previous assignments. Cuevas said it is the prerogative of the city director Sr. Supt. Norlito Bautista to effect the relief of his personnel.
The ouster of ten cops in the different police precincts is already the second wave of the relief initiated by the Iloilo City Police Office. The first wave of relief involved eleven cops and even stirred a controversy at the Molo police precinct.
