Mejorada: Focus on the issues
Mejorada
Iloilo -- The 'dog tag' really hurts and similarly all other attributions made by his former bosses, yet Provincial Administrator Manuel 'Boy' Mejorada remains undaunted.
In fact, despite the warning from Secretary Augusto 'Boboy' Syjuco of a political fall-out with Governor Niel Tupas if and when he does not stop, Mejorada relays the message of his current boss to his former boss. 'Go ahead Boboy Syjuco. I will not stop Boy Mejorada in his crusade to uncover the truth,' the purported comeback of Tupas went when told of Syjuco's 'warning.'
Such and more comprised Saturday's radio program, 'Capitol in Action' hosted by Mejorada for and in behalf of the Iloilo Provincial Government over Aksyon Radyo. The 45-minute radio program dwelt on its entirety Mejorada's defense and reaction to the previous night's radio interview of Secretary Syjuco with wife, Second District Representative Judy Syjuco over Bombo Radyo.
To recall, said Provincial Administrator has since been on the news for his staunch attacks against the Syjucos, particularly on the TESDA Secretary over the alleged misuse of P100 million 'pork barrel' funds when he was still the district Representative.
Mejorada maintained that government funds were channeled to two Syjuco foundations, Tawo kag Duta/ Kauswagan Foundation and the Tagipusuon Foundation. Both, he charged, are existing on paper only and serve its purpose whenever millions in government money are to be taken by Syjuco for personal gain.
He even alleged that as per his check with the Securities and Exchange Commission said foundations have not submitted annual reports and financial statements in the last five years.
Mejorada lamented that the Syjuco couple did not answer squarely the issues he raised against them but instead dwell on attacking his person.
'They should focus on the real issue, the people of the second district have the right to know,' Mejorada said.
Mejorada also felt insulted being tagged by Syjuco as a dog. 'If I am a dog, ano na lang ayhan ang ordinaryo nga tawo sa panulukan ni Boboy Syjuco? (If I am a dog, what is an ordinary citizen to the eyes of Boboy Syjuco?),' he said.
Mejorada said the people of the second district are already getting impatient with all the empty promises of the Syjucos.
He said, the people, especially the women in the district, keep on asking where their leaders are.'Adlaw-adlaw makita sila galing kay sa billboard lang (Everyday we see them but only on billboards).'
Mejorada even issued the challenge if there is anybody from the district who can stand and say they actually felt the benefits from Syjuco. He said, he is willing to stop his 'attacks' if there would be people who will come out to do so.
'Ginakasubo ko nga wala ako may nakita, or nabatian ni isa ka mangunguma nga naghambal sala ako or gabinutig,' he continued while adding that his only interest here is for the truth and to fix things up in the Second District. 'Kung matadlong nila, indi na ko magdalagan (if they can straighten matters there, then I will not run (for District Representative).'
Mejorada earlier disclosed his plan to run for congressman of the second district in 2007 to put an end to the reign of the Syjucos.
Mejorada last week said that because of his series of exposes against the Syjuco couple they have told all the municipal mayors of the Second District not to invite him in any occasion where they are also guests.
Mejorada said, the Syjucos were shaken with his exposes of their anomalies because it is the truth
