A dog world
Expect the unexpected in this year of the dog. It has been an acceptable notion that this four-legged creature is considered man's best friend. His loyalty is beyond question. You can beat him to death and he will never ask the reason why.
Unfortunately, the master is more inclined to abuse and exploit his pet. Studies reveal that dogs possess the ability to understand human behavior and language the man utters regardless of his race - may he be black, yellow, red, white or brown.
As it is, body language is universal in nature. The intensity of pain, joy, anger, may vary in every individual, yet it boils down to a common denominator, all human beings are capable of the same emotion.
To understand better the nature of those people born under the Year of the Dog, a research I made from a web page designed by the students in the Chinese Culture Center of San Francisco comes in handy:
"Notably, people born in the Year of the Dog possess the best traits of human nature. They have a deep sense of loyalty, are honest, and inspire other people's confidence because they know how to keep secrets. But Dog People are somewhat selfish, terribly stubborn, and eccentric. They care little for wealth, yet somehow always seem to have money. They can be cold emotionally and sometimes distant at parties. They can find fault with many things and are noted for their sharp tongues. Dog People make good leaders. They are compatible with those born in the Years of the Horse, Tiger, and Rabbit."
Getting deeper into their nature may lead to a path for a reconciliation. Who knows, the next time around I face my friends and foes alike, born under this Chinese zodiac sign, would give me a leverage of handling them with utmost care. Suffice to say I would be counting more friends rather than enemies.
So, don't you think this world is a better place to live in, then -- where there is no war, no political bickering, no gossip, no 45 ghost employees in the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, no Syjucos in our midst, but only love, peace, joy and harmony.
On the other hand, this is easier said than done. For in reality, people just like their pets, have to live and content themselves according to their needs.
Survival maybe the name of the game, but one thing I'm sure though, Dog People will stick around, not necessarily to lick and bite, but to lead us to prosperity.
Welcome Dogs!
