Capitol releases P7.6 M financial aid to public schools
The improvement of the quality of education is one of the top priorities of the administration of Gov. Niel D. Tupas, Sr. this 2006.
To make this possible, the governor through the Provincial School Board, where he is also the chairperson, has released recently a total of P7,645,000.00 financial aid to public elementary and secondary schools in the province of Iloilo.
This financial assistance will be utilized mainly for the improvement of school facilities and build new classrooms.
The release of funds took place in a simple ceremony at the Conference Hall of the Provincial Capitol with Governor Tupas and Provincial Planning and Development Office Head Mario Nillos.
The checks were received by school principals and municipal treasurers.

It can be recalled that provincial government, through the Provincial School Board, has allocated P87.5 million in 2005 as financial assistance for our public elementary and high schools.
Tupas said his administration is committed to help improve the quality of education and will continue to "invest" in the future of Ilonggo children.
Tupas, who is a product of the public school system, said he considers education as the effective tool in fighting poverty. (Capitol News)
