Zayco family takes 5 Tan children to Bacolod
Iloilo -- A day after massacre victims Francisco "Bobby" Tan, his second wife Cynthia Marie and daughter Catherine were buried, the Zayco family, kins of Cynthia Marie, brought the couple's five children to their hometown in Bacolod City.
Rosalinda Zayco, mother of victim Cynthia Marie, along with Michael Zayco and another member of the Zayco family reportedly took the five children Raffy, Karen, Christine, Cathy Lyn, and one-month old Kathlyn from the Tan residence in Molo against the will of their grandmother Conchita Tan.
They left on board the passenger fastcraft Weesam Express 5 around 4:00 p.m. They were escorted by elements from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) 6.
No member of the the Zayco family issued statements about the transfer of the children at press time.
Meanwhile, Senior Supt. Renato Gumban in an interview said he provided the Zayco family security escorts as per their request.
Unconfirmed reports have it that Conchita did not want the children taken from their custody.
The three massacre victims were laid to rest Wednesday with the Zayco family in attendance.
Emily Zayco, Cynthia's aunt, was quoted as saying "we want justice no matter who gets hurt."
To note, CIDG 6 filed two counts of murder and parricide charges against Bobby's sons by his first wife Archie and Jan Michael Tan, 23 and 18 years old, respectively.
CIDG investigators based their case on scientific and circumstantial evidences that allegedly pointed to the duo as the culprits in the crime.
Gumban earlier said the motive of the killings could be related to family problems.
Earlier, Conchita, aunt of Archie and Jan Michael, absolved the two of the crime and alluded to their former security guard as the perpetrator.
J. Vini Gulmatico, the security guard allegedly alluded to by Conchita as the suspect, denied the allegations saying he was in his house in Leganes, Iloilo when the crime happened.
Police investigations also did not find anything that would link Gulmatico in the gruesome murder.
Archie and Jan Michael were reported to have come out of the Tan mansion on midnight of Sunday, January 8, for a night out by scaling through the back wall.
Ramil Loberiza, security guard on duty at the mansion that time, alleged that the two came back passing through the same back wall around 3 a.m. eventually discovering the dead bodies of their father Bobby, step-mother Cynthia Marie and step-sister Catherine.
Gumban earlier said they had probable cause to charge the two brothers of the crime.
Meanwhile, Tan's counsel Nelia Jesusa Lingaya-Gonzales questioned the complaint failed by CIDG on grounds of technicality.
