The glitz and glamor of Motifs
Tying the knot is one of the most exciting moments in a person's life. The final moment that everyone is looking forward to. It is not as plain as a ceremony rather it is liberation from the complicated single life and an introduction to the gift of being united. Thus, it is but imperative that weddings should be given unequal emphasis. What more can be perfect than having a right man? Hmmmm... an ideal wedding dress I guess.
It's not June yet but the spacious hall on the 3rd level of SM City Iloilo was filled with white gowns and elegant people. Wedding bells are not yet ringing but everyone was excited to finally unveil the latest creations of Iloilo's top designers back-to-back with three of Manila's finest.
Some of Iloilo's prominent beauties came to see the exhibit and watch Motifs, a bridal show. The long ramp instantly turned into an aisle that most women dream of. Local models clad in princess-like gowns brushed their stilettos unto the stage as they slowly stride with the mellow music.
Manila's most sought-after models Marina Benipayo and Ria Bolivar dominated the stage with grace and charm as they posed and turned confidently.
Guests were awed by the breathtakingly alluring and undeniably captivating creations. Cameras were on fire and flashes were everywhere as the real-life mannequins flaunted the exquisite bridal gowns. Seeing the stunning work of art was absolutely tempting. For women, who at the time were in a pseudo heaven state, the ravishing pieces of cloth that were intricately designed was of parallel value to that of a glittering diamond ring.
The empress-like gown amazed the crowd. Wearing that gown during your big day will surely give you that royalty-of-Japan feeling. Ignacio Loyola's lucrative yet beauteous masterpieces earned praises. Jaws dropped as the sequined white and pink goddess-like collection of Eric de los Santos were presented. The chic and posh chef-d'oeuvre of Bo Constantino, Romeo Parcon, Jaki Alcantara-Peñalosa, Anjanette Borja-Ragus, Mandy Salcedo, Poly Abastillas, and Roy Sesbreño caused the audience to be in a state of momentary catatonia. Barge Ramos' idea of creating a more alternative twist to the classic trousers and suits was indeed brilliant. The more-of-tenue-de-ville dresses of Frederick Peralta culminated the show.
Bouquets and plaques were given by the respected names in the glamorous world of fashion headed by Edgar Suelo to the designers who participated in the event.
Of course, such occasion will not be completed without the presence of the fashion's best friend -- cocktails. Italian hors' d oeuvres delighted the taste buds of the people from the fashion circle.
The event was the genesis of a week-long bridal fair at SM City Iloilo.
It was a night of dreams waiting to be breathe into reality. A prelude to a more stylish celebration of life. A moment for the couples of today. Motifs was a window to a joy we call FOREVER.
