City tagline contest extended
The city government is extending the deadline of the tagline-making contest for another month due to numerous requests received by the Public Information Office (PIO).
Executive assistant Benito Jimena said that after conferring with the 10 judges yesterday, a unanimous agreement was reached to extend the contest until the end of April to give contestants from other municipalities along with many others who signified their interest to join the contest a chance to participate.
The tagline contest, launched in the first week of March, has already more than six hundred entries to-date, with others still clamoring to join.
In explaining the extension, Jimena said that since the chosen tagline will be the one used in all promotional materials of the city, the contest must cater to the most number of entries so that the judges will have many choices.
Those who are still interested to join must bring their entries to the Public Information Office at the City Hall building each typewritten in a letter-size bond paper placed inside a sealed mailing envelope and should be labeled at the back with their complete names, addresses, contact numbers and signatures.
Prizes include P10,000 for the 1st prize and ten consolation prizes amounting to P1,000 each.
Entries will be judged according to relevance (50%), impact (30%) and understandability of words (20%).
Meanwhile Mayor Jerry P. Treñas is urging all Ilonggos to join the competition saying that the winning entry will have an important place in the history of a rapidly improving city. He also stated that it will truly bring pride to the winner to know that he has significantly contributed to a worthy project.
For additional details regarding the competition, interested parties may call telephone numbers 337-1235 during office hours.
