Capiz PNP tops regional performance evaluation
Roxas City -- The Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO) topped its counterparts in various police offices of Western Visayas in the January to March 2006 performance evaluation by the Police Regional Office (PRO) 6.
The quarterly evaluation is designed to assess the performance of police offices in the provinces and highly urbanized cities including the Regional Mobile Group in the region. It covers community relations, operations, intelligence and investigation, logistics, personnel and research.
A report rating signed by Police Regional Director P/CSupt. and lawyer Doroteo Reyes indicated that Capiz PPO bested other police offices in the Police Community Relations and Intelligence Section categories.
Capiz PNP Provincial Director P/SSupt. Cipriano Querol, Jr. also steered CPPO to the top in the PRO - 6 evaluations last year.
Significant accomplishments of CPPO last year included decrease of crime statistics, launching of Baywatch Patrol and Pamilya Ko Ayaw sa Droga campaign, and various successful operations against illegal drugs, illegal gambling, illegal possession of firearms, ammunitions and explosives, and child abuse, among others.
The CPPO appears weekly as guests in public affairs programs over three local radio stations to inform the public about the achievements of its municipal police stations and to intensify its peace and order campaign to a bigger audience.
Last February, Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief D/Gen. Arturo Lomibao graced the CPPO's celebration of the 15th PNP anniversary which was highlighted by the distribution of awards and citations to deserving CPPO policemen as well as civilians who have contributed greatly to the peace and order campaign during the preceding year. Lomibao was the guest of honor and guest speaker during the ceremony.
