Binirayan's Pasundayag to showcase Antique's OTOP
Pasundayag is one of the highlights in the celebration of the Binirayan festival in the Province of Antique. This Trade Fair gives opportunities to local producers from various municipalities to showcase their products that best describe Antiqueño creativity. The activity will start on April 24,2006 at the EBJ Freedom Park and will stay during the duration of the festival.
This year's Pasundayag will display the development and promotion of products and services where each town has competitive advantage in support to the One Town, One Product (OTOP) of the national government through the Department of Trade and Industry.
It is expected that the major product of the province, the muscovado sugar, will be more highlighted. It was earlier revealed by Gov. Salvacion Z. Perez that muscovado sugar was included as one of the high value crops that have a bigger potential for exporting. Other local products and services expected to be showcased are seaweeds and aqua-marine, agri products, coco and banana based products, eco-tourism services and products, buri and nito craft, fish-based products, rattan and bamboo craft, hand-woven products like patadyong and piña cloth, gemstone, processed fruits and vegetables among others.
"Pasundayag" which means to "show off" or "present" aims to promote Antique's products, invigorate the market for them and attract investors, and to draw attention to the province's tourism destinations. This is in line with Governor Perez's Antique First Policy and thrust of bringing the province to the limelight of development through its products and tourism potentials.
