As the Binirayan Festival of Antique is getting closer to its highlights which is on April 27-29, a new Lin-ay kang Antique (Miss Antique) will be crowned on April 28. Eleven candidates coming from various municipalities of the province will compete for the title.
The Lin-ay kang Antique is a competitive search for an Antiqueña whom would serve as epitome of the women in the province through her charm, beauty, wit and character. She would also serve as the province’s new ambassador of good will to Antiqueño communities around the world and would help bind them as a people who could look back with pride and look ahead with confidence. The winner is usually given a trip abroad, where there are Antiqueño communities.
The candidates are set to present their individual talents on April 24 at the Karsadyahan Grounds at the back of the Old Capitol. The Press Presentation and Interview will be held at Malandog Beach on April 27, 2:00 PM. The coronation night is set on April 28 at the EBJ Gymnasium.
It was earlier revealed by the Binirayan Foundation, Inc. that the competition is a search for an Antiqueña who could articulate the needs and concerns of the Antiqueño. The crowned Lin-ay kang Antique will likewise be tasked to help the foundation in raising funds for its projects.
The Lin-ay kang Antique began in 1974 as Miss Antique, and later evolved into Miss Binirayan and eventually Lin-ay kang Antique.
