CEO officials dare Gumabong to prove his allegations
Both Chief City Engineer Marito Amatorio and Engr. Marcelino Umahag strongly denied Ricardo Gumabong's allegations in an interview over Bombo Radyo.
They challenged Gumabong to prove his allegations.
Amatorio even said that Gumabong might have implicated them in the anomaly so as to cover up his wrongdoing.
Umahag said they have evidences to prove that Gumabong was engaged in several extortion rackets.
He said they would be submitting the documents to the City Legal Office when the investigation starts.
Gumabong, for his part, said he is willing to face any investigation to prove all his allegations against his superiors and fellow employees at the City Engineer's Office.
But after he opened a can of worms inside the CEO, Gumabong feared for his life, thereby asking the help of the media. A lawyer has already signified intention to assist Gumabong in whatever investigation he will be facing.
Gumabong said it was his sole decision to tell the truth about what is really happening inside the CEO. He kept his silence for more than a week after he was figured out in a foiled extortion racket at the Philippine Phosphate Fertilizer Corp.
Gumabong said he did not immediately surface to give his side on the controversy since he was waiting for the right moment and how he can deal with all the accusations against him.
He said he only learned of the controversy through the media.
Gumabong is expecting that the people he implicated in the widespread corruption at the CEO will harm him.
They will not personally take action but they can hire somebody to inflict or cause harm to me, he said.
Nevertheless, Gumabong said he is ready whatever will happen as he is ready to face any investigation relative to the corruption taking place at the CEO.
He felt he has stepped on the toes of other people because of his decision to come out and testify on the corruption taking place inside the department.
City Mayor Jerry Treñas, on the other hand, called on Gumabong to back all his allegations with evidences.
The mayor said he has already tasked the City Legal Office to conduct investigation on the matter.
