PNP constructs P5.14 M building in Antique
The Antique Police Provincial Office (APPO) is currently constructing a building amounting to P5.14 million at Bugante Point, San Jose, Antique to house various departments of the PNP.
Modernization of PNP structures/offices is a centerpiece project of PNP Chief Arturo Lomibao included in the PNP transformation program of building strong Police Stations, said PO2 Rodel Canja of Antique Police Provincial Office.
It can be recalled that the first construction of PNP Provincial Office was way back in 1957 under Major Luis Chiong, Provincial Commander of then Phil Constabulary (PC) in a 288 square meters lot. Bugante Point was originally the Provincial Headquarters of the 49th PC Company. Its last renovation was in 1968 under Major Arsenio Castillo, PC.
The APPO under the leadership of PSSupt. Ronilo V Quebrar has accessed funds for the construction of the project. This 2-storey building is one of the major accomplishments of PD Quebrar during his stint as the Provincial Director of Antique.
On the other hand, Antique will have its new PNP Provincial Director on June 1, 2006. PD Quebrar will relinquish his post to PSupt. Bartolome C. Tobias a former Chief of the PNP Regional Intelligence and Investigation Division, Region 6. Bartolome is also a lawyer by profession and prior to his assignment to Antique he recently finished his schooling at Camp Crame.
The turn-over ceremony will be witnessed by Governor Salvacion Z. Perez with Regional Director PCSupt. Doroteo Aquino Reyes II as guest of honor.
Meanwhile, PSSupt. Ronilo V. Quebrar has been the Provincial Director of APPO for 2 years, 9 months, and 24 days since he was installed way back in August 7, 2003. Quebrar will leave impressive accomplishments, one of which is keeping the status of Antique as Jueting Free province. It was also during his stint that the Provincial Peace and Order Council was given regional and national recognition as one among the best PPOC.
In 2005, PD Quebrar was also awarded as Best Senior Police Commissioned Officer for Operations in the Regional and National levels. Other worthy accomplishments include neutralization of cattle rustling in the province and capture of Jimmy Capispisan by Antique police operatives as most wanted criminal of Region 4A (MIMAROPA). Due to his exemplary performance he was promoted to Police Senior Superintendent in November 2005.
With the installation of PD Tobias and modernization of police facilities and equipment, Antiqueños are hoping for a more responsive and dynamic police officers in the province.
