294 new soldiers added to the Philippine Army
Camp Peralta, Jamindan, Capiz - Two hundred ninety-four candidate soldiers recently graduated at Camp General Macario Peralta, Jr, Jamindan, Capiz. The graduates were headed by candidate soldier Mary Grace S. Semaning, Philippine Army; candidate soldier Benje C. Tasic, Philippine Army and candidate soldier Russen Arlo S. Lozada, Philippine Army, as top three, respectively, both in academics and non-academics.
Physical proficiency award was given to candidate soldier Bernard Quinden L. Villa, Philippine Army. The training lasted for five months and four days at 3rd Division Training Unit under the command of Lt. Col. Larry B. Mojica (Infantry) Philippine Army and Captain Arturo Dl Palma Jr. (Ordnance) Philippine Army as course director.
The Chief of Staff of the Philippine Army, Maj. Gen. Victor S. Ibrado AFP, is the Guest Speaker of the Closing Ceremony. He inspired the new soldiers with his message, "Our organization is dynamic, everything changes; it is now your individual concern to entail painstakingly adjustments and sacrifices. There will be times that you will stumble and fall. Stand up and courageously face all the odds. Do not hesitate to make personal sacrifices in accomplishing given task, in the name of service. It is not actually the rank that matters but it is how well you confront the given mission."
A long journey has finally come to its culmination where the treasured fruit of hard-fought, the Candidate Soldiers Course, had come to reality. Victory has undeniably achieved and the triumph is about to savor. They have the mixed feelings of sadness and happiness in a sense that they will be missing the things they used to do during the duration of the training, happiness because they have surpassed and survived all the challenges they go through. They are now about to shine and to give hope to our nation, possess confidence to stand out in this world.
