A 70 year-old farmer and member of the volunteer barangay police reported missing for days was finally found. As his wife feared, he was found dead, an apparent murder victim with his body buried in a shallow grave in one undisclosed barangay in the town of Ajuy.
Operatives of the Ajuy Police Office accompanied by a number of local barangay officials and the victim's family was led to the grave site with the victim's remains discovered to be in an advanced state of decomposition.
A positive identification was made by Diosita Libuna on her murdered husband, Eduardo. She broke down minutes into a Bombo Radyo interview where she managed to name at least three male suspects.
A father of nine children, Diosita said Eduardo was invited by a certain JunJun, Kiroy and Boy last Monday morning and was not seen since then. After four days of absence, she went to Ajuy town proper and asked for her husband's whereabouts but was told by an acquaintance that the victim went home Tuesday morning. It was then that she feared for her husband's life knowing that the trio who invited him had a longtime grudge over an unsettled mis-understanding.
Eduardo had five hack wounds and was pushed towards the shallow grave. When unearthed, he only had his pants on with the injuries still visible.
Police investigation continues as probers seek for the full identities of the three male suspects named by the victim's wife.
