DOH 6 to craft module on reg'l affiliation and training of schools
The Department of Health (DOH) Center for Health Development (CHD) in Western Visayas will come up with a module that will guide health students and workers in their training and affiliation with government health facilities in the region.
The initiative dubbed as Module on Training and Affiliation of Students in Government Health Facilities is part of CHD 6's efforts in attaining its vision of quality health care for all in Western Visayas.
The CHD 6 noted the demand for health workers abroad resulting to an educational boom for nursing and other health related courses all over the country.
"This situation will get worse if the human resource quality output brought about by this situation is left unguided", said the CHD 6 in a press report.
The CHD 6 said they don't want to reach a situation where the number of health students and the patients/sickly compete with one another in number as consequence. Or to a point that health workers cannot find employment because they are below the standard for such profession.
The module contains general information on DOH, list of accredited government health facilities for training and affiliation in the region and the set of requirements for affiliation.
With this module, the CHD 6 hopes that there will be equity in health services, quality in health education as well as the duties and responsibilities in training and affiliation requirements clearly defined.
