Toxic cocktail downs 2 IRC inmates
Inspired by the healing wonders of rubbing alcohol, two inmates at the Iloilo Rehabilitation Center (IRC) in Pototan, Iloilo concocted an original recipe for an after dinner cocktails. Results? No intoxication but near toxic-episode that had the two desperate "bartenders" hospitalized for intense stomach pains.
The victims, 20 year-old Mark Lance of Dingle, Iloilo and Mark Tingson of Cabatuan, Iloilo were rushed by IRC guards to the hospital for emergency treatment. Both behind bars for murder, Lance and Tingson were feared to have been dehydrated from continuous bouts of vomiting when discovered by jail authorities.
Turned out, the duo decided to mix a pack of juice to a significant portion of Isopropyl rubbing alcohol and had a toast of their "juicy alcohol on the rocks." Within minutes and halfway to their consumed experimental drink, the effect was felt by the two who were then writhing from pain.
Other than very bruised egos, Lance and Tingson are expected to fully recover.
