Emily to celebrate birthday with 5,000 day-care kids
Former Guimaras Governor and Congresswoman Emily Relucio-Lopez marks her birthday with a celebration lavish not in drinks nor party. For the former lady solon and first lady of former Iloilo Second District Congressman Albertito Lopez, the better way to celebrate is make 5,000 schoolchildren happy.
All day-care pre-schoolers from the Iloilo towns of Pavia, Sta. Barbara, San Miguel, Leon, Alimodian, Leganes, Zarraga and New Lucena, Guimaras towns of Jordan, Buenavista, Nueva Valencia, Sibunag and San Lorenzo, city kids join the lucky youngsters as well coming from the districts of Jaro and Lapaz.
It will be a fun-filled three-day celebration slated on August 10, 11 and 12 with the celebrator, Inday Emily, as she is fondly called by thousands of supporters. The birthday celebration will be completed by the presence of the former Second District Congressman, Nonoy Albert to many .
Total of 5,000 day-care schoolchildren yet according to the former lady solon "I wish I can share my birthday with thousands more and make these wonderful children happiest to spend this special day with me and my family. I will work on having more days like this."
The young guests were chosen thru the respective town mayors concerned and local social welfare agencies of each municipality.
"The poorest of the poor from our indigent families. That's my special request. They are my special guests," Emily said.
Albertito and Emily have since been dubbed as the "power couple" even in their retirement from politics. The duo is instrumental in bringing to life the Taos Puso Foundation, credited for the sustained and sustainable livelihood projects in the Iloilo's Second District towns and throughout the Province of Guimaras.
As an added gift, the couple decided to extend their Taos Puso family as they break grounds next week and opens the Taos Puso doors to Iloilo City's Jaro and Lapaz districts.
