PhilHealth grants more funds for Iloilo City
PhilHealth granted the City of Iloilo a total of 2.3 million pesos and would still release additional amount as its Capitation Fund (PCF) to augment the city's accredited health care facilities expenditures.
PhilHealth Regional Office (PRO) 6 newly installed head, Alberto C. Manduriao will deliver the latest amount to Mayor Jerry Treñas on his scheduled courtesy visit to the city chief executive. The capitation grant will go to Molo, Arevalo and La Paz Health Centers following the agreement to provide out-patient diagnostic benefits to enrolled indigent families of the city.
Mayor Treñas enrolled almost 10,000 indigents to the government social health insurance program. Members and their dependents can enjoy coverage whenever confined at any hospitals in the country.
Moreover, giving value to preventive care program, PhilHealth is giving back an amount equivalent to P300.00 per enrolled family. The PCF amount can be used to procure equipment and supplies as well as to upgrade the accredited facilities to serve the public. This is released once the premium payment for enrollment of the indigent families are made.
Among the out-patient diagnostics benefits that accredited facilities provide are complete blood count, fecalysis, urinalysis, sputum microscopy, visual acetic acid screening, digital rectal exam, counseling for smoking cessation and lifestyle modification, among others. To date, there are five Health Centers duly accredited in Iloilo City, these are the Molo Health Center, Arevalo Main Health Center, Lapaz Health Center, Jaro I Health Center and City Proper Health Center at the city hall.
As to update of benefits, Manduriao announced the inclusion of 3rd normal spontaneous delivery to the Maternity benefits as this was already approved by PhilHealth Board yet advised to wait for its guidelines.
The new PRO VI head assumed office last Monday replacing Atty. Reynaldo Capangpangan who then designated to concurrently managed PRO 6 with PRO 8 after Ms. Marilyn Geduspan transferred to PHIC Central office to head the Corporate Communication Department.
Prior to their assignments, Capangpangan and Manduriao had served Region 6 as Regional Director of DBM and OIC Director of DOH, respectively.
