DENR urges Green Philippine Highway participants to observe guidelines
The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) VI advises the heads of delegations or groups who will participate in the Green Philippine Highway project in the region to closely coordinate with the DENRs city and provincial offices for their specific road assignments.
The project will be simultaneously implemented nationwide, with Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao islands on August 25, 2006.
DENR VI Regional Executive Director Julian Amador, in a press report, urged participants to observe the synchronized activities if they wish to become part of the human chain to plant trees at the West Nautical highway.
DENR press report said participants are expected to be in their designated assembly area at 5:00 to 6:30 in the morning on August 25 and they have to be at their places of assignment at 8:29 for the preparation of the Human Chain Formation until 9:29 A.M. to be followed by the whistle blowing for the Human Chain. The holding of hands of the human chain estimated schedule is from 9:45 to 9:59 A.M. and the simultaneous planting of trees and maintenance of the human chain at 10:00 to 10:20 A.M. (no break - up within this time for documentation both aerial and land). The activity is expected to end at 11:00 A.M. onwards.
Amador said participants should observe this schedule. "We cannot afford to be late, we cannot afford to be a missing link of the human chain and we cannot afford to be not part of this noble and historic effort", he said.
